Highly recommend the sesame gateaux and injeolmi cake. I still haven’t tried the strawberry cream cake so I’ll have to go back (but definitely go early bc they sell out quick!). Btw if you want to order a cake you’ll have to go in person since they don’t take any pre orders by phone or online.

Cute bakery with lots of delicious Korean-inspired sweets! I tried the yakgwa financier and injeolmi madeleine and both were tasty and not too sweet. Items are fairly priced and great quality, and the staff are so nice! Hope to try more of their selection soon next time I'm in the area, especially the cakes 😎

Their Madeline is the best. Not too sweet. It is dry outside but has filling inside. Very different from the regular ones. I like their black sesame flavors cakes. Highly recommend this bakery.

You cannot fail with any menu here but their sesame cake, dalgona latte, matcha cookie, and cheesecake are the BEST. The owner bakes them by hand every morning and the ingredients like sesame, dalgona, and carmel are all home made too! Not artificially sweet because she uses nothing cheap like corn syrup. She is a real dessert artist! The price is also fair too ($5 for drinks, $5 for madelines, $8 for a cake piece). I cannot find any dessert place nearly as good in the whole bay area. This place is gonna be now go-to place for my sweet tooth.

very clean, so many options, went 20 min after they opened and not sold out at all—I got 8 pieces of assorted cake for 75$ they all look very high quality!! the service was very kind :)

check out this newly opened cute bakery shop cafe! previously a 3-michelin star chef, the patisserie owner bakes everything from scratch each morning with her original recipes. the desserts are absolutely delicious and stunning. i loved the korean twist on classics like the yakgwa financier and injeolmi cake. the cafe menu is also great and they offer nicely packaged takeout options. jmt🤍

I ordered a custom birthday cake from them, and everything from the ordering process to the cake itself was outstanding! The sweet potato flavor was rich yet perfectly balanced—not overly sweet. The cake truly made our day extra special and memorable.

If you're looking for an authentic Korean bakery that serves phenomenal cakes and drinks, look no further! Gu-eum is your answer, your destination and will surely become your favorite! Gu-eum is located at the popular Westgate corner strip mall at the corner of Lawrence Expwy and Prospect Rd, right across from McDonald and next to Cere tea. Parkings may be a bit of a challenge here but no worries, there are ample parkings in the back beyond McDonald. No matter where you park, it's only a quick 2-3 minutes walk to Gu-eum. On the outside looking in, Gu-eum looks modest with a cute white teddy bear logo on the windows and some white lace curtains covering 2 of their big windows. The inside of store is neutral toned with a hint of buttery yellow and brown which reminds me of honey and cakes. White chairs and white tables as well as some houseplants and wall mirror are tastefully placed around the store to create a welcoming ambience. I can easily see myself coming here more often to grab some cakes and drinks and hanging out with my friends in the weekend or after work. All that nice ambience aside, their cakes and drinks are what truly capture my heart (and my tummy)! They have so many flavors to choose from and some of them you haven't ever heard of, such as Injeolmi and Goguma (Korean yam which is my favorite!!). Their cakes are not super sweet (which is a compliment in Asian culture), melt in your mouth and make you feel like you're in heaven with every bite! Their cream is light, fluffy, with right amount of sweetness and that elegance of a well-make cream on top of the cake. And of course, you'll miss out if you don't try their phenomenal drinks! I love their Goguma latte, Dalgona latte and most recently the seasonal Tiramisu latte, which is made to perfection with real mascarpone cheese and strong and bold coffee. I ordered the Lemon Curd Sponge Cake for my mother’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. The cake was light, moist, and had just the right amount of sweetness with a refreshing lemon flavor. My mom loved it, and so did everyone else. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and professional throughout the process. The store has a beautiful interior - elegant, clean, and thoughtfully designed. It made the whole experience feel even more special. Highly recommend this place for quality of their cakes and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back for future celebrations.

The cafe next door is our go to matcha spot, and today we decided to stop by this cute little bakery as well. Everything looked amazing, and I especially love Korean pastries due to their unique flavors and light sweetness. The prices are reasonable, staff were very kind and polite, the place itself was clean, and the little notes for each pastry definitely helped. The rice cake was so so good, so was the matcha cookie. I can’t wait to go back!
